The new Governor of the Novgorod region may become the General Director of ASI Andrey Nikitin, told RBC three sources. The current head of the region Sergey Mitin can be dismissed on Monday, February 13
The next reshuffle of governors is expected early next week. Monday, February 13, in resignation can leave the head of the Novgorod region Sergey Mitin. As Governor it can replace the Director General of the Agency for strategic initiatives Andrei Nikitin, told RBC three sources close to the presidential administration.
“Nikitin is a young, smart, with ties to the Kremlin, the White house, the ministries,” describes the Director General of ASI, one of the interlocutors RBC. According to another source, Nikitin as the head of the ASI has the obvious success, and knows the regional agenda, since the Agency traditionally is the rating of investment attractiveness of regions.
Director of communications ASI Igor Karachyn not answered a call to RBC. In comments to TASS, he called information about the appointment of Nikita rumors: “It is obvious rumors. Monday, February 13, the Director General of ASI Andrei Nikitin scheduled internal meetings with the Agency staff, one of them related to the participation in the Russian investment forum in Sochi on 27-28 February,” said Karachyn.
Member of the “Yabloko” in the city Duma of Veliky Novgorod Alexey Zabelski RBC reported that on Monday the Governor, who is now on vacation, was in Moscow. This information confirmed RBC in the government of Novgorod region, which also reported that Mitin was in the capital “for personal reasons” and that he’ll be back from vacation the evening of 10 February.
Novgorod political scientist Michael Szymanowski confirmed the information about the “informal” visit of the Governor in Moscow. According to him, this is not the first Mitina trip to the capital. “Since mid-January, he said, “Look for yourself a place by himself to help you will not.” And so he goes to Moscow, walking in the rooms, begging for a place,” — said the expert.
Earlier posts have left the head of the Perm region Viktor Basargin, whose place was taken by the head of Department of economic policy and development of Moscow Maxim Reshetnikov. Later resigned the head of Buryatia Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn.
