The victims of a stampede at a football stadium in the city of Uige, North of Angola, according to preliminary data, were 17 people, reports Reuters with reference to the head of the local hospital Ernesto Luis.

The stadium hosted the match between two local football teams. The stampede began after the fans decided to storm the entrance to the stadium. As a result, 17 people died from suffocation. Another 59 were injured.
