At least 16 people died in an explosion in Pakistan’s Lahore

At least 16 people were killed in the blast today, February 13, in the Pakistani city of Lahore, reported local TV channel

Among the dead were policemen. About 60 people were injured.

The explosion occurred near the building of the Assembly of the Punjab during a mass rally against the amendment of the legislation on the sale of drugs. The protesters were owners and employees of pharmacies. All the rally gathered several hundred people.

After the explosion, the police cordoned off the area, fearing new attacks. In the Pakistani capital Islamabad has declared a red level terrorist threat.
