As informs Agency “Interfax”, about his resignation Mitin said at a press conference in Veliky Novgorod. Previously RBC reported that the most likely successor Mitina is the head of the Agency for strategic initiatives Andrei Nikitin.
During a press conference Mitin stated that it had decided to terminate his powers and not to participate in the gubernatorial election next fall. “Addressed to the President asking him to give me my new Commission”, — he said.
As told RBC Novgorod political scientist Michael Szymanowski, Mitin since mid-January, I traveled to Moscow, went from office to office and “begged a place”.
As for Nikitin, on his probable appointment of RBC told three sources close to the presidential administration. “Nikitin is a young, smart, with ties to the Kremlin, the White house, the ministries,” — said the interlocutor of RBC. Another source indicated that Nikitin knows regional policy, as traditionally ASI is the rating of investment attractiveness of regions.

Nikitin was born in Moscow in 1979. The Agency for strategic initiatives he led in 2011, after passing an open competition.
