Experts from the European statistical Agency Eurostat reported that the Czech Republic is the country with the lowest unemployment rate in the European Union, reports RIA Novosti.
It is reported that the unemployment rate in the Czech Republic at the beginning of January 2017 was 3.5%. On the second place in EU on this indicator is Germany – 3.9%, and third place is shared by Hungary and Malta – 4.5%.
It is noted that the current situation in the labour market leads to problems in the economy, as businesses are increasingly reporting a lack of both skilled and unskilled workers, which inhibits the growth of the industry.
According to the Economic chamber of the Republic, now on the market of the labor force lacks about 150 thousand people, which forces to raise the quota on the admission of foreign workers, in particular, from Ukraine.
