Patriarch Kirill said that the transfer of St. Isaac’s Cathedral is called to reconcile people. According to him, the Church prays that the return of Isaac “stopped evil thoughts of people doing a house of prayer the cause of discord”

Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill for the first time commented on the return of the Saint Isaac’s Cathedral Russian Orthodox Church (ROC). According to him, the return of the Church allowed to keep their shrines is not a threat, informs “RIA Novosti”.

Speaking at a meeting of the Supreme Church Council of the Russian Orthodox Church at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, he added that the transfer of the Cathedral on the centenary of the revolution in Russia is designed to become a symbol of reconciliation of the people.

“Once the destruction of the temples, the massacres of believers have become a terrible national division, now the world around returned to the churches must become the personification of harmony and mutual forgiveness — and-white with red, believers with unbelievers, the rich and the poor,” said the priest.

According to the Patriarch, the beauty of St. Isaac’s Cathedral “is equally to reach the hearts of every person, regardless of nationality, belief, faith, the language in which he speaks”.

In January, the Governor of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko said that St. Isaac’s Cathedral will be transferred to the Russian Orthodox Church for 49 years free of charge. February 16, Deputy culture Minister Vladimir Aristarkhov said that after the transfer of the Cathedral PIF may endanger his safety, because the attendance of the Cathedral may increase in connection with the abolition of fees for entrance. The official warned that the ROC may have to limit the influx of visitors to the Cathedral.
