The Minister of education Olga Vasilieva said about the need to do the exam on the history of binding. She also said that complying with the new standard history books must come to school for the new school year
Minister of education and science Olga Vasileva, speaking at the plenary session of the all-Russian conference “History of Russia in the XXI century through the eyes of schoolchildren”, said that the unified state examination (use) in history must be in the required list, reports TASS.
“Here I am as a historian first and foremost convinced that it needs to be mandatory,” said the Minister. Vasilyev added that the issue needs to be discussed, but stressed that he could not “person who has been through 11 years of training, do not know their history.”
According to the Minister, the new textbooks will go to almost all regions of the country in the 2017/18 school year.
“We will do our best to this year <…> most regions, almost all in the 2017/18 year there were already new textbooks from 1 September. For us it is very important,” — said Vasilyev.
That students should get the new history textbooks by September 1, Vasilyev announced in the summer of 2016. These textbooks have been written on the basis of developed by the Institute of Russian history in 2013, the historical and cultural standard. It includes a principled evaluation of the key events of the past, the main approaches to the teaching of national history in the modern school with a list of required to study themes, concepts and terms, events, and personalities.
After the standard was approved, all the history books of Russia had to undergo a special review in accordance with him. In this regard, has also been revised the Federal list of textbooks on the subject.
Currently required to obtain a high school diploma are the only exam in Russian language and mathematics.
