Moscow. September 12. INTERFAX.RU – Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the new foreign Minister of Britain, Boris Johnson discussed by telephone the situation in Syria in the context of the Russian-American agreement, the Ukrainian settlement and agreed to a personal meeting at the forthcoming UN General Assembly in new York.
“Lavrov and Johnson agreed to meet on the sidelines of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly in new York”, – stated in the message of the foreign Ministry.
In addition, the Ministers discussed the situation in Syria.
Johnson, in particular, welcomed the Russian-American agreement reached at the meeting of Lavrov with U.S. Secretary of state John Kerry on 9 September this year in Geneva, and expressed their willingness to contribute to its successful implementation”, – stated in the message.
