Russian President Vladimir Putin made a special televised address to the citizens and urged them to come to elections to the state Duma on 18 September. However, he said that all participants of the election campaign were created equal conditions
In a special televised address to the nation President Vladimir Putin urged them to take part in the elections to the single voting day on September 18. “Sure, whatever political views we may adhere to, participation in voting is a civic duty of each of us,” he said (the speech was broadcast channel “Russia 24”).
“The election campaign is completed. All participants were created equal conditions for open and fair competition, in order to indicate their position on various issues, to offer ways of their decision, and voters can objectively measure, compare, program, goals, actions and achievements of parties and candidates,” — said the head of state.
Earlier Thursday, Putin took part in the meeting of the Presidium of the state Council, which was held in the Crimea. After the meeting he gave a picture of “In the shop” Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, who was on the eve of his birthday. Medvedev heads the party list of “United Russia”.
In the elections to the state Duma involved 14 parties.
On Thursday, the head of the Central election Commission, Ella Pamfilova expressed readiness to resign in case of unfavourable outcome of the elections. “You know that I owe you, I resigned when I didn’t agree with on policy positions. So if I fail this election, of course, I’ll resign” she said, answering the question whether some situation in which she’ll resign.
