The UN and the Organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons (OPCW), presented the fourth joint report in which the responsibility for chemical attack in Syria lies with the Syrian government forces, reports Reuters.

It is reported that the specialists of the organizations, the investigation revealed that two units and two helicopter squadrons of the Syrian army were responsible for two cases of use of chemical substances for military purposes during the period 11 APR 2014 to 21 August 2015.
It is noted that the conclusions of the experts of the UN and the OPCW was based on data from the Western regional intelligence.
The new report presents the results of the investigation nine attacks in seven districts of Syria. Eight of them, according to experts, chlorine gas was used. It is emphasized that the experts were unable to detect evidence that any opposition group has used chlorine.
As expected, the document will be presented to the UN Security Council next week.
Earlier it was reported that some of the facts in the report of the UN mission and the OPCW to investigate the use of chemicals for military purposes in Syria could be fabricated by the militants. This was stated by Russia’s permanent representative to the UN Vitaly Churkin.
