– The President of the Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov denies the possibility of his appointment to head the new Federal Agency on Affairs of sports, youth policy and tourism.
“I haven’t heard about it is hearsay and complete nonsense,” – said Zhukov to “Interfax” on Wednesday.
However, he confirmed that he intends to leave the post of head of the Russian Olympic Committee. “I am a member of the International Olympic Committee as President of the ROC. Yeah, I’m going to leave my post to focus on work in the Duma, but Russia can not lose a place in the IOC”, – said A. Zhukov.
He also noted that “the election of the President of the ROC another year and a half”.
