Authorities have found the money to host the world festival of youth and students in Sochi, which almost left without funding because of the reshuffle in the Kremlin. The amount will be 4.5 billion rubles, told RBC sources.
4.5 billion for the second reading
On Friday, November 18, following consideration of the first reading of the budget for 2017-2019, the state Duma adopted a resolution (there RBC), which is recommended by the relevant Committee and the government to find funds for preparation and holding of the world festival of youth and students. World festival of youth will take place in Sochi from 14 to 22 October 2017.
The resolution with a recommendation to raise funds for the festival means that the second reading of the budget in the state Duma, the lower house will be amended accordingly. The authors of the initiative will be the United Russia party may be joined by deputies from other factions, said RBC Deputy Chairman of the budget Committee Nadezhda Maksimova (United Russia).

Pashkov says that the organizers planned the estimate of the festival, focusing on the amount that was spent on accommodation of participants, etc. during preparation and holding of Universiade in Kazan 2013. Funding for these articles, he said, then cost 12-13 billion rubles. But at the stage of approval of estimate of expenses had to be adjusted, said Pashkov.
According to the representative of a major capital event, the company, the amount of 4.5 billion rubles for the festival at the declared parameters based on the number of guests and time of holding “is consistent with the market”.
“Sochi is a very complex area, — says the interlocutor of RBC. — Despite the apparent availability of existing infrastructure remaining after the Olympics, the region is very limited number of rooms and under so many guests will have to use all of the hotel, including all the most expensive with room rates from 100 thousand rubles per day”.
