In the framework of the II world grain forum was held a Plenary session “Production and grain market: global changes and opportunities.”
In conversation took part the Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, agriculture Minister Alexander Tkachev, member of the Board for industry and agricultural complex of the EEC Sergey Sidorsky, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of CLAAS Katrina Klaas – Mulhauser, member of canadian Parliament, former Minister of agriculture of Canada (2007-2015) Gerry Ritz , and others.
Dmitry Medvedev noted that the First grain forum took place 7 years ago in Saint-Petersburg and since that time much has changed.

— There were UPS and downs, but, nevertheless, over the years Russia has regained the title of the strongest player on the world grain market, — said the Prime Minister. — Despite the crisis in many sectors of the economy, agriculture in Russia today is the fastest growing sector. Of course, we must do everything to maintain this pace.
Arkady Dvorkovich said that not last role in development of agriculture was played by the sanctions. Thanks to them, the producers felt confident.
— It is clear that some day they will be canceled and they are not wanted. But we will continue to support agriculture, do everything possible so that the farmers feel stable, — said Dvorkovich.
At the plenary session spoke about international experience of support of agriculture:
— Agriculture is highly flexible to quickly – adapting the industry, — said Gerry Ritz. — Each state must decide how it will support this area. But that the government should provide stability to the vicissitudes of climate and the economy could not prevent the development of agricultural production. This branch must be stable and predictable. After all, are interested in the products have been provided on the shelves on time and at a reasonable price.
