The head of the Supervisory Council of VTB can become the former Chairman of the Central Bank Sergey Dubinin, Chairman of the Board of Bank Andrey Kostin.
“Now consider the candidacy of Sergei Dubinin. He has been our Chairman of the Supervisory Board. In case of approval we hope that until the next annual meeting Dubinin is Chairman of the Supervisory Board”, — said Kostin (quoted by TASS).
Sergey Dubinin held a post of the Chairman of the Central Bank from 1995 to 1998.
Earlier, the VTB Supervisory Board was headed by the former Minister of economic development Alexei Ulyukayev. He was sent under house arrest on 15 November on charges of extortion and receiving $2 million in bribes from Rosneft for a positive decision by the MAYOR on the privatization of shares of “Bashneft”. In SKR say that the former Minister was caught red handed. Itself the speaker pleads not guilty and considers the incident a provocation.
On 15 November President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on dismissal Ulyukayev as head of the MAYOR in connection with loss of trust. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has appointed temporarily fulfilling duties of the head of Ministry of economic development Deputy speaker Evgeny Elin.
Yesterday, November 19, it became known that Ulyukayev will also be excluded from the Supervisory Board of Vneshekonombank, after it is appointed as the new Minister of economic development.
