In Russia started to check prices on Samsung smartphones

The FAS checks the prices of Samsung smartphones in Russia. Previously, the Agency conducted a similar test in February, which brought the case on coordination of prices of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus

The Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) checks Samsung for coordination for smartphones, reports TASS with reference to the head of the Department for combating cartels Andrey Tenishev.

The Tenishev reported that the FAS launched an investigation against Samsung after receipt of the relevant complaints. “The end (test. — RBC), I can’t say. I think next year we will deal with this issue with Samsung,” he said.

The press service of Samsung at the time of publication has not commented on the information about the verification. Contact a representative of FAS failed.

In February 2016, the FAS began a similar review in relation to Apple. The audit office said that most of the Resellers from the beginning of official sales of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in Russia was established at the same prices and kept them for some time. Such coincidences may be the result of coordination of the pricing of Russian Resellers, the company Apple, which led to the adoption of the so-called recommended prices as required, said the Agency.

In August 2016, the FAS filed a case against Apple and its controlled entities. A decision will be made in January — February 2017, said the Tenishev November 22. However, he noted that the penalty for the coordination of the prices for Apple may be “penny”.

Apple itself previously said that the Russian Resellers set their own prices for selling their company’s products.

In October, the Antimonopoly service initiated a check of the prices on the new smartphone from Apple — iPhone 7, sales of which began in Russia in September. The representative office said that the decision to prosecute will be made after verification, instead of a new case of FAS can extend the previous one.
