FAS can make an antitrust case against Visa and Mastercard because of the different fee for maintenance of small and medium business. With the requirement to conduct an audit intends to address the “Support of Russia”
“Support of Russia” intends to address in Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) with the request to conduct an audit of the discrimination payment systems Visa and MasterCard small businesses in the amount of a fee for the service, reports “RIA Novosti”.
The President of “OPORA Russia” Alexander Kalinin said that Visa and MasterCard charge a Commission of 1.5% for the service of big business and to 2.5% is small. “There clearly is discrimination. What to do with it?” — he turned to the head of service Igor Artemyev.
“This statement in the FAS. With pleasure. Will be one of the favorite [antitrust] cases,” — said Artemyev.
Later Kalinin confirmed to the Agency that the organization is going to write a suitable statement, but did not specify when it plans to do this.
According to the law, the FAS may initiate an antitrust case at the request of citizens or organizations. Within 30 days after receipt of the application, the service treats it with the possibility of extension for 60 days, checks and then decides to prosecute or not.
