Individual entrepreneurs in Russia may prohibit the sale of beer at retail

Limitations it is proposed to introduce from 1 July 2017 throughout the country, except Crimea and Sevastopol, for which deferred to 1 January 2018. In addition to beer, the ban falls beer drinks, cider, Poiret and Mead.

According to the explanatory note to the draft law of the Ministry of Finance, such measures due to the fact that individual entrepreneurs do not fully declare their sales of alcohol. This Department is associated with lower fines for failure to file returns for them than for legal entities.

Meanwhile, market participants believe that such a ban would negatively affect small business, because 90% of the stores “fresh beer” that sells only beer drinks, was on individual entrepreneurs.
