International Federation of motorcycling (FIM) has suspended Russian athlete Anastasia Nifontova after the discovery in its analysis of a prohibited drug Meldonium, the press service of the FIM.

“The FIM have opened a case against members of the women’s world Cup on rally-RAID of Anastasia Nifontova. The decision to suspend was taken after receiving the report of the WADA-accredited lab in Cologne, according to which the doping test of Nifantovo discovered Meldonium”, – stated in the message of FIM.
Analyses were taken on 3 October at the Moroccan round of the world Cup for rally-raids – Rallye OiLibya du Maroc 2016, completing the season, the results of which Russia became a silver medalist of the world championship FIM for cross-country rally in the women’s standings.
Nifontova, who planned to speak at the rally-RAID “Dakar-2017”, informed about the incident, she has the right to appeal the decision to dismiss and to the opening of the b sample.
Meldonium is banned in the sport from 1 January 2016, in the beginning of the year a scandal broke out with numerous cases of detection of it in the tests of the Russian athletes. During the proceedings it turned out that the substance is excreted from the body much longer than specified in the annotation several days. In this regard, vada in April, it was decided that the concentration of Meldonium in 1 microgram of the doping trial of the athlete, rented till March 1, 2016, is valid.
Later it was decided that the samples collected until September 30, 2016, the allowable presence of Meldonium in the case that the concentration does not exceed less than 1 microgram per milliliter. The presence of the substance in the samples taken after this deadline may result in disqualification for four years.
The head of the Federal medico-biological Agency Vladimir Uiba said in October that the full removal of Meldonium from the body can reach one year.
