Russian-European probe “Schiaparelli” (Schiaparelli). Help

According to preliminary data, the module parachute opened at a height of 12 kilometres and a speed of 1730 kilometers per hour. Shortly thereafter, the unit measuring angular velocity, handed control system incorrect value. As a result, the system incorrectly determined the height of the apparatus, it was below the surface. When Schiaparelli was at the height of 3.7 kilometers, it has already joined some of the “ground” devices, as if he was already on the surface.

Recall the demonstration landing module of the Russian-European mission “Eczemas” crashed while landing on the Red planet on October 19. A detailed investigation of the incident will appear in 2017.

Previously, NASA has shown the color photo of the site, where the crashed module.
