The magnitude was 7.2. The epicenter was 135 kilometers from the village of Puerto El Triunfo.
In areas within a radius of 300 kilometers from the epicenter, announced the threat of a tsunami, reported the Pacific tsunami warning centre. Later it was declared that the danger had passed.
