Ukrainian boxer Vasily Lomachenko in his eighth fight on a professional ring prematurely ended the fight with an undefeated (26 wins and one draw) to this day, the Jamaican Nicholas Walters.
Thus, the Ukrainian defended his title of world champion under version WBO in the second Featherweight (up to 59 kg) last Saturday in Las Vegas battle.
In the seventh round, Lomachenko picked up the pace, after which the Jamaican refused to continue the match.
Lomachenko, the Olympic champion in 2008 and 2012. In July 2013, he signed a contract with American promotional company Top Rank Promotions, which extended in early may 2015 for five years.
In June 2014, Lomachenko won the title of world champion under version WBO Featherweight title in his third fight in professional Boxing, beating American Gary Russell Jr. Thus, he repeated the record of the Thai Saensak Muangsurin, who in 1975 won the title of world champion under version WBC in his third battle.
After that, the Ukrainian spent three successful defense of his title at Featherweight and decided to go to the next weight category. In June 2015, he defeated the Puerto Rican Roman Martinez, winning the WBO title in a higher weight.
