According to Peskov, the delegation will also be the Chairman of the intergovernmental Commission Dmitry Rogozin, representatives of the Russian foreign Ministry and parliamentary factions.

“The delegation will be sufficiently representative,” said Sands.

On a question of journalists, why Cuba will not fly by Putin himself, Peskov said: “Putin is quite intense agenda. Earlier on Monday, presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that the question of Putin’s presence at the funeral Castro is not yet resolved.

Fidel Castro died Saturday, November 26 at the age of 90 years. His funeral will be held December 4, at the cemetery Santa Ifigenia in Santiago de Cuba. To this day Cuba declared national mourning.

Commenting on the death of Castro, Putin described the former Cuban leader “a symbol of an era in recent world history” and stressed that they built the Republic “served as an inspiring example for many countries and peoples.”
