All defendants in the case on embezzlement of budget funds allocated for restoration of monuments of history, admitted his guilt, informs “Kommersant” with reference to sources.
According to interlocutors of the edition, the first pre-trial agreement on cooperation with the investigation concluded the entrepreneur Nikita Kolesnikov, the head of the company “Baltstroy” Dmitry Sergeyev and the Manager of the company Alexander Kochenov. Under the deal, they pleaded guilty and testified on the alleged accomplices, and then left the remand prison, the newspaper said.
Upon learning of the agreement, the other defendants in the case — Deputy Minister of culture Grigory Pirumov, the Director of the Tsentrrestavratsiya Oleg Ivanov, Director of the Department of property management and investment policy of the Ministry of culture, Boris Mazo, the head of the FGKU “Directorate for construction, reconstruction and restoration” Boris Tsagaraev and headed the projects “Baltstroj” Mr Swanbeck also pleaded guilty and has collected about 10 million rubles to pay off the damages, notes “Kommersant”. At the same time for the last of the defendants measure of restraint has not changed: the Moscow city court decided to leave them in custody, given the gravity of the alleged acts and the need to complete the expert research, to show all the final charges.
Lawyer Mazo during the consideration of the appeal complaint in Moscow city court said that the court of first instance, prolonging the arrest, did not take into account “relevant circumstances”, which appeared in a criminal case. Protection of the suspect insisted that the case remained unidentified defendants, with whom the accused could engage in a criminal conspiracy, once free.
None of the defendants did not admit his guilt. According to investigators, Deputy Minister of culture Pirumov organized criminal group, which in 2015 have signed contracts with controlled company JSC “Stroyfasad” for the restoration of Novodevichy convent for a total amount of 127 million rubles.
The investigation considers that the members of the group overestimated the cost of works and forged certificates on their implementation. Pirumova also charged with embezzlement of funds during the restoration of the drama theatre in Pskov, St. John the Baptist monastery in Moscow and the Museum of cosmonautics in Kaluga.
