The court sanctioned the arrest of a former teacher of the Moscow school № 57 Boris Meyerson. He is accused of sexual abuse of minors
A former teacher of the Moscow school № 57 Boris Meyerson arrested in absentia on charges of sexual abuse of minors, the correspondent of RBC from the courtroom.
The decision on correspondence arrest of the Khamovnichesky court of Moscow adopted on January 26. Monday, February 13, this resolution was approved by the court. According to the court, Meyerson needs to be remanded in custody for two months.
The case against 50-year-old teacher was initiated at the end of September 2016, after verification of the complaints of the students. Meerson charged with a crime under part 4 of article 135 of the criminal code (indecent assault). The maximum penalty for this offence is 15 years imprisonment.
According to investigators, in the period from April to December 2010 Meerson and a graduate of school No. 57 Mary nemser repeatedly committed sexual acts against the boy, who at this moment was 16 years old. The Investigative Committee has established that the teenager had repeatedly come to Meerson and neser to visit.
The scandal surrounding the school № 57 erupted 29 August 2016 after the journalist of “Medusa” Ekaterina Krongauz on the page in Facebook published a post which stated that the teacher of history of one of the capital’s schools “had an affair with Schoolgirls”. Krongauz claimed that for more than 16 years “knew everything”.
“Pretty nice guy, smart, ironic, charming. No wonder it was to fall in love. We were small and thought big. And then the years went by we became more, but his beloved has changed and remained small,” wrote Krongauz. The name of the teacher or the school she did not elaborate, however, many of the comments of the post, it became clear that we are talking about the school № 57.
Because of the scandal around the school retired its Director, Sergei Mendelevich. He stressed that this decision wants to show that the interests of children and teachers putting up their own.
Tsentr obrazovaniya № 57 “the Fifty seventh school” took the fourth place in the ranking of the best schools in the capital at the end of the 2015/16 academic year, according to the Department of education.
