Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the acceptance of a Russian passport of the territory of the DNI and LC. That some companies in Russia have begun to recognize such documents mentioned in the investigation of RBC
A decree on the recognition of documents issued to citizens of Ukraine and stateless persons residing in the territories of separate districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine, published on Saturday, February 18, on the website of the Kremlin.
The decree States that such documents are “temporarily, pending a political settlement of the situation in certain districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine based on the Minsk agreements”.
The decree also follows that the question of recognition, not only of passports and other documents, including birth certificates, education documents, marriage or divorce, name change, vehicle registration, and registration plates of vehicles actually operating in these areas.
The document was signed “in order to protect the rights and freedoms of man and citizen, guided by the universally recognized principles and norms of international humanitarian law,” reads the decree.
In early February, the investigation of RBC showed that in Russia passports of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics (DPR and LPR), you can use the services of Russian Railways, airlines and hotels.

Later, the press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the passports issued by the authorities of the DNI and LC, official recognition in Russia have not received. At the same time he specified that the documents could be recognized as a separate Russian companies and bodies “humanitarian grounds”.
