In Denver, a meeting of representatives of the National anti-doping organizations (NADO) that following the meeting, called for the suspension of the Russian team from the winter Olympics 2018 in Pyeongchang. Joint statement of the 17 countries was based on doping-scandal, which is reflected in the report of Richard McLaren.
The British newspaper Guardian published the joint statement of the heads of the 17 national anti-doping organizations, who are against Russia at the Olympics-2018. Among them were the US, UK, Canada and others, and they want to get from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for the removal of Russians from the main start of fourth anniversary.
“The impossibility of a thorough investigation into doping in Russian sport, as well as use by athletes from Russia banned drugs during the Olympics-2014, creates a danger to the “clean” athletes. We have serious doubts about the “purity” of the Games in 2018 due to a lack of testing for the last time,” the statement said NADO.
However, it is noted that a number of Russians may be in Pyeongchang, but under a neutral flag, and thorough testing.
Recall that in 2016 Professor Richard McLaren, who heads an independent Commission of the world anti-doping Agency (WADA), presented the report in two parts on doping in Russia and the existence of the state program. He said that in various fraud involved more than 1,000 athletes, however, yesterday, WADA had to terminate the investigation in respect of 95 athletes for lack of evidence of their guilt.
