“Moscow and Minsk will discuss the creation of a cross-border area “Sacred lakes”

– The Council of Ministers of Belarus by its decision approved a draft agreement between the governments of Belarus and Russia on creation of a transboundary especially protected natural territory (OOPT) “Sacred lakes” as the basis for negotiations, the press service of the government.

In a “natural lakes” will consist of two Belarusian landscape reserve – “osveysky” and “Red forest” – from the Russian side – the national Park “Sebezhsky”.

Created transboundary PAS “Sacred lakes” is the basis for the creation of a transboundary biosphere reserve with the purpose of its further inclusion in the world network of biosphere reserves of UNESCO.
