Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov in the framework of participation in the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly in new York held a meeting with heads of the organizations of the Jewish community in the United States, reported the press service of the Russian foreign Ministry.
According to the press service, during the meeting the sides exchanged views on Russian-American relations and some international issues, including the situation around Syria and the Palestinian-Israeli settlement. Great attention was paid to combating terrorism, extremism, anti-Semitism and neo-Nazism. Emphasized the importance of efforts to preserve the memory of events and victims of the Second world war.
Lavrov heads the Russian delegation to the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly that opened in new York on September 12. The working program of the Minister includes several dozen high-level events and bilateral meetings. On September 21, he will speak during the General debate of the UN General Assembly.
