Minister of foreign Affairs of great Britain, Boris Johnson has shared his impressions of the meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov and expressed the elaboration of his visit to Moscow.
“We had a good meeting with Minister Lavrov, we have addressed many issues that are of mutual interest. Let’s see if we can go on a visit to Moscow, when it will be convenient to all,” – he said to journalists on Tuesday after meeting with Russian foreign Minister.
“We are working on this issue,” he added. According to him, the UK with Russia is “the good part of a relationship, and bad.”
In turn, the Russian foreign Ministry said that it will meet the London, if Britain changed the political course towards Russia. “The Russian side stressed the importance of normalizing relations through a mutually respectful and equal dialogue on the basis of regard for mutual interests. Expressed readiness for the steps in the case of adjustments by the management of British policy towards Russia”, – said the Russian foreign Ministry.
The previous visit of Boris Johnson to Moscow, scheduled for April 10, broke through the fault of the British side. The decision in London explained “the fundamental change of the situation in connection with the events in Syria”, referring to the chemical attack on the Syrian city of Idlib. The Western coalition has accused its troops of President Bashar al-Assad. The Russian side insisted that the government forces have nothing to do with the attack.
