Beijing on Wednesday started tests of three rail lines: metro line with trains without drivers, trains with magnetic levitation (Maglev) and high-speed tram line .
They will all be officially launched in the Western suburbs of the Chinese capital at the end of this year, reports the Agency “Xinhua”.
Line Anifan length of 16.6 km is China’s first automatic metro line one hundred percent of Chinese development. It links the areas of Yanhua and Fangshan in the South-Western outskirts of Beijing. The maximum design speed of the trains is 80 km/h.
The S1 line of the length 10,2 km represents a first in Beijing’s line on a magnetic suspension. It connects the Western suburbs, Mentougou and Shijingshan.
Tram line 9 km long passes through multiple tourist attractions in the North-Western part of the capital, including the summer Palace (former Summer Palace), Xiangshan (Fragrant mountain), and the Botanical garden. New trains capable of speeds up to 70 km/h.
Currently in Beijing there are 19 subway lines with a total length of 574 km. In 2017 it is planned to finish a total of 20 lines or sections over a length of 350 km.
