“Medvedev asked Putin to keep the volume of financing of agriculture in 2018.

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev announced that he would appeal to President Vladimir Putin about the preservation of volumes of financing of agriculture in 2018.

“I can’t help but agree with what said Sergei Ivanovich Neverov in terms of the need to preserve the funding requirements for the development of agriculture in sleduyushemu. This will refer to the President of the country”, – said Medvedev at the meeting devoted to the progress of seasonal agricultural work.

“The budget, of course, as usual, difficult, but we agreed several years ago that the spending on agriculture – protected part of the budget. From this position it is not going to back down,” – said the Prime Minister.

On Friday the Prime Minister visited the village of Giaginskaya in the Republic of Adygea, and also visited the farm “rainbow”. Before the meeting, on carrying out of seasonal field works, Medvedev talked with farmers and visited a corn field.

The leaders of the agro-industrial complex said that this year the harvest of grain and leguminous crops in Adygea is expected to reach 600 thousand tons. Representatives of the farm “rainbow” reported that the average corn yield now is 45.4 centners per hectare, and this year, farmers expect a good harvest.

Minister of agriculture Alexander Tkachev noted that the high yield in the Republic is facilitated not only by climate, but also a good fertility of the land.

“We were just talking about it. This land, the Germans that were here, and tried to take in Germany,” – said Medvedev.

After that, he and farmers continued the conversation about the harvest and import substitution. Returning from the cornfield to the meeting, the Prime Minister visited an Apple orchard enterprise “Circassian gardens”, where they learned about harvesting fruit.

Business leaders and Republican officials said that the harvest here is done by hand for maximum safety presentation and quality of apples, and the projected harvest in 2017 is expected to reach 4.5 thousand tons.

The working visit of Medvedev was accompanied by Vice Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich and agriculture Minister Tkachev.
