– Australia has announced its intention to create its own space Agency.
“We intend to establish a national space Agency Australia” – said at the opening ceremony of the International Astronautical Congress on the eve of the 60th anniversary of the launch of the first artificial Earth satellite, the Minister of education, Senator Simon Birmingham.
The Agency engaged in space research, and space technologies and educational programs on the continent.
The Agency also plans to develop cooperation in the space sector with the world’s leading space agencies and corporations, including the Russian Federal space Agency, NASA and the European space Agency.
The first artificial Earth satellite was launched October 4, 1957.
