Stop activities of “VIM-Avia” will result in the collapse of the tourism and aviation markets, which could result in significant reputational damage to the bodies of Executive power and the widespread discontent of ordinary citizens. This is stated in the message of Association of tour operators of Russia (ATOR) published on the website of the organization.

“The airline, whose total payables estimated 3 [billion] to 10 billion rubles., now has no working capital, which could be used for compensation or replacement of flights”, — is told in the message.

According to preliminary estimates, “VIM-Avia” to the end of the summer season must carry nearly 200 million passengers, including about 100 thousand Russian tourists. It is argued that operators will not be able to return such a number of travelers from abroad on their own.

All Charter flights of “VIM-Avia” to the end of the season is in full paid, says ATOR. To allocate funds for re-payment of all flights that, according to preliminary estimates, could cost at least $ 10 million, without jeopardizing the stable operation of the tour operators.

In ATOR reminded that in the nearest time Russia will host the world Cup. “The situation will inevitably be on the pages of foreign media, since at the moment, “VIM-Avia” does not plan the evacuation of Russian citizens from abroad, and tens of thousands of people,” — warn representatives of the industry.

In a statement sent to Deputy Prime Minister, Vitaly Mutko, ATOR asks to intervene in the decision-making process to prevent the global crisis on the tourist market.

On Monday, the airline “VIM-Avia” declared that he had no funds to continue, and ceased to perform Charter flights. In turn, the Prosecutor’s office began check of the carrier, and the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on embezzlement of funds of passengers by employees of “VIM-Avia”.
