For the past two months, victims of a plague outbreak in Madagascar were 19 people, reported on Thursday by the Western media.
“We recorded 104 cases of the plague in Madagascar, 19 people died”, – said the Minister of health of Madagascar Mami Lalatiana Andrianarivo.
The Minister noted that this year the plague season started earlier than usual. Madagascar suffers from outbreaks of plague every year since 1980. It is caused by rats that have resorted in a densely populated slum, fleeing from forest fires.
