– Russia is ready to allow the supply of about 50 thousand tons of tomatoes from four companies of Turkey, said Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich on the TV channel “Russia 24”.
“If to speak about Turkish tomatoes, our approaches identified – we’re willing to accept the supply of Turkish tomatoes to the Russian market in volume about 50 thousand tons in the next 4-5 months from December to April, when we have off-season” – said Dvorkovich.
However, the decision on the opening of the market may affect Turkey’s actions, complicate the procedure for the import of Russian agricultural products, he said.
“Turkish colleagues are not opposed to this approach at this stage. However, we will look at the limitations that exist in the Turkish market for our agricultural products, for our exporters. If we see that our approach to the products not sufficiently constructive, it is, of course, will not bring the adoption of the decision on access of Turkish tomatoes to the Russian market. However, a positive mindset, determined to find a mutually acceptable solution,” – said Dvorkovich.
