Thanks to a donation from Soros, “open society” was, according to the WSJ, the second largest charitable Foundation of the United States, behind only the Foundation of Microsoft founder bill gates and his wife Melinda.

Further stock investments, Soros intends to do from its own funds, then transferred in the Fund will not be controlled by them personally, and specially created investment Committee, which he heads.

Note that previously the Fund “open society” acted on the territory of Russia, only 8 years, from 1995 to 2003, spending billions of dollars on various projects — from creating Internet centres at universities to support the “Memorial” and the Fund “mother’s Right”, dedicated to the protection of military mothers whose children were killed in the army.

However, in 2015, the Fund entered into a “memorial list” established by the Council of the Federation and was recognized as undesirable, that is actually forbidden on the territory of Russia. The seizure began to be even released with the support of the Foundation books.

Currently, the activities of the “Open society” continues in more than 40 countries around the world.
