– The famous French actress and singer Danielle Daria died at the age of 100 years, reports on Thursday, the newspaper Le Monde.
The legend of the French cinema, died on Tuesday, however, the media became aware of this only now. She died at her home, located in the commune of Bois-Le-ROI in Eure in Northern France.
French culture Minister françoise Nissen has reacted to the news of the death of the actress. “Her talent, her generosity covered the French cinema. Daniel Daria could play absolutely any role with unprecedented naturalness,” Nissen wrote on his Twitter.
Daria has played in more than 100 films. Well known for her roles in the films “Mayerling” (1936), “the Rage of Paris” (1938), “Alexander the Great” (1956), “the Girl from Roshfora” (1967) and “Red and black” (1954).
One of the last films in which she starred, was the Comedy “Eight women” and the drama “I’ve been waiting for you.”
Besides, Daria did a lot of singing, gave concerts, and musicals.
She was honoured with several international awards in the field of cinema. In particular, she received a césar award, the prize of the Berlin film festival “Silver bear”, and theatrical Award of a name of Moliere.
