– A resident of Kharkov Elena Zaitseva – the driver of the Lexus, which on 18 October in the city centre, drove into pedestrians and caused the deaths of 5 people, at the time of the accident was under the influence of opiates.
As was reported at the meeting of the Kiev regional court of Kharkov on remand Zaitseva Prosecutor Maxim Blokhin, evidenced by the results of the medical examination of the suspect.
He said the petition for admission of copy of the document to the case.
The lawyer Yulia Trump said that this is absolute nonsense, because the defendant at the time of the accident was “completely sober.”
Previously MP from the faction “people’s front”, Advisor to the interior Minister of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko wrote on Facebook that the driver of the Lexus was not trying to brake before the collision, as it raced through the city.
As reported, the evening of 18 October at the crossroads of Sumskaya street and alley in the near Kharkiv Lexus RX running girl 20 years old, moving on prohibiting traffic light, collided with a VW Touareg. As a result of collision the Lexus took off on the sidewalk and made arrival on 11 walkers, 5 of whom died on the spot (4 girls and a young man), the others were taken to medical facilities.
Later the interior Ministry reported that the number of victims Kharkiv of the accident increased to six. The driver of the Lexus was arrested by the court.
The accident is being investigated under part 3 of article 286 (violation of the rules of road safety, in which several people were killed) of the criminal code of Ukraine. The maximum sanction of article prescribes 10 years of imprisonment.
