US dollar rises, Euro falls on the Moscow stock exchange at the opening of trading on Friday; ruble rises slightly to the basket, reacting to the slight recovery in oil prices.
The first transactions in US dollar were in the range 57,37-57,43 rubles/$1, at the end of the first minute of trading, the rate was 57,37 RUB/$1 (+9.75 kopecks to the previous closing). The Euro dropped to 67,78 rubles/EUR1 (-13 cents), the cost of the currency basket ($0.55 and EUR0,45) rose by 0.5 of a penny relative to the closing level on Thursday, to 62.05 ruble.
The dollar has been by 20.06 kopecks below the level of the current official exchange rate of the Euro by 15.33 kopecks below the official rate.
According to experts of “Interfax-CEA”, the ruble rises slightly against the currency basket due to some strengthening in oil prices. Quotations of “black gold” are rising on Friday after a significant decline at the end of the previous session, which may be due to the desire of traders to fix profits after the rise in oil prices by 3% over the previous four sessions.
The cost of December futures for Brent crude on London’s ICE Futures exchange at 10:01 Moscow time has grown on 0,42% – to $57,47 per barrel. The price of WTI crude oil for December in electronic trading on the new York Mercantile exchange (NYMEX) has increased by this time on 0,43% – to $51,73 per barrel.
