“On elections of the mayor of Kutaisi and Batumi are leading candidates from the ruling party

– The Central election Commission of Georgia continues counting of votes held on Saturday, elections in local governments.

Tallied voting results on the election of the mayor of Kutaisi 39 of 124 polling stations. According to the CEC, the lead candidate in mayors from the ruling party “Georgian dream” Giorgi Cigare received – 48.61 per cent of the vote.

In second place from 27.16% of the votes, the candidate from the former ruling party “United national movement” Grigol Vashadze, who served as foreign Minister in the government of ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili.

In Batumi, at the election of the mayor after counting the results of voting in 32 polling stations of the 103 leading candidate from the ruling party Lasha Komakhidze with of 54.86%. In the second place the candidate from the party “United national movement” – Levan Antadze, who received the support of 25.86% of voters.

On Saturday in Georgia were held elections to the local authorities. To be elected 2058 municipal deputies and 64 of the mayor. The election was attended by 22 political parties and five electoral blocs. In Tbilisi, the leader of the ruling party candidate Kakha Kaladze, the mayor claimed 13 candidates.
