It has long been in the hands of Islamic state terrorists, say media
– Kurdish fighters of the organization “democratic Union Party” (PYD), considered by Turkish authorities as a terrorist, took control of the largest oil field of Syria – “al-Omar”, said on Sunday Anadolu.
“The terrorist DAISH (ISIL banned in Russia – if), a long time to control the field, were forced to retreat and left the area units PYD” – said the Agency.
It is noted that the field “al-Omar” is located in the province of Deir-ez-Zor on the East Bank of the Euphrates river, close to the Syrian-Iraqi border.
In February of this year, UN Secretary-General, antónio Guterres, reported that about 80% of the financial resources of ISIS receives from the sale of oil and gas, as well as extortion and racketeering. So, in 2016, the IG due to the sale of hydrocarbons received $260 million, primarily raw materials came from the Syrian province of Deir-ez-Zor. Thus in 2015, the income of extremists from the sale of oil amounted to about $500 million.
