Sukhum. 26 Oct. INTERFAX – an Earthquake of magnitude 3.8 occurred in Abkhazia on Thursday at 14.24 local time, reported “Interfax” Director of the Institute of the environment Roman Dbar.
According to him, the epicenter was located 20 km from the capital of Abkhazia, in the mountains, in the valley of the river East Gumista, two kilometers from the water intake not operating Shangas. “Earthquake focus (hypocenter) lies at a depth of two kilometers”, – he added.
“Because Sukhumi is separated from this area by the transverse folds of the big mountain systems, the tremors felt weak in the capital of Abkhazia and other settlements of the Republic and has not caused any consequences,” – said Dbar.
