“The airport of Irkutsk began to search for a designer to build a new terminal

– “International airport Irkutsk” has announced a tender for the feasibility study (FS) construction of a new terminal of international and domestic air lines, reported on the website of public procurement. The initial (maximum) price of the contract is 4.9 million. Tender applications will be accepted until November 2, on the same day appointed summing purchases.

According to the documentation, the construction of the terminal is scheduled for 2018-2020. The total area of the air terminal complex of international and internal air lines should not exceed 40 thousand square meters. The bandwidth should be calculated until 2028, with an extension until 2035. The designer must also be provided in the terminal telescopic ladders, contact (terminal) berthing of ships 3-5 aircraft. The contractor should also assess the mode of operation of the runway (courses take-off and landing) from the point of view of safety “in existing high-rise obstacles from the city.”

Previously, the management of the Irkutsk airport was proposed to the shareholders to build a new international terminal with an area of 12 thousand square meters with a cost of 840 million rubles (in prices of 2014).

It was also reported that Basic element, claiming the airport of Irkutsk, suggested the owner of the airport, the government of the Irkutsk region, from 2017 to 2027 to upgrade the hub by building a new terminal (domestic and international) from the Baikal highway (the closest road to lake Baikal – Interfax). The new terminal area of not less than 35 thousand square meters with a Park of “basic element” was estimated at 5.6 billion rubles. The Governor of the Irkutsk region Sergey Levchenko stated that the region needs investors who are modernizing the existing airport, built approximately 7 years new hub outside of Irkutsk and will take “a load” of 10 regional airports, which also require development.
According to the Governor, reconstruction of the existing airport of Irkutsk is estimated at 8 billion rubles and the minimum the cost of construction of the new airport (including the runway) will be $1.5-2 billion.

Irkutsk airport is located in the city, has two terminals and a runway length of 3.5 thousand meters In 2016, the airport served 1.7 million passengers, 0.9% more than in 2015.
