– The former Deputy of Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Rican of Tologonov sentenced to 15 years of strict regime with confiscation of property in the case of the looting of the property of the family of ex-President Kurmanbek Bakiyev, said on Saturday “Interfax” in the Pervomaisky court of Bishkek.
“Yesterday the decision of the court of Tologonov sentenced to 15 years imprisonment with confiscation of property. According to the verdict, the convicted person has to spend a prison term in a colony with a reinforced regime,” – said the representative of the court.
He also noted that the judge, at sentencing used the Amnesty. “The judge applied the Amnesty based on the age of the defendant,” he said.
The court did not specify what the period, according to Amnesty, should spend in prison convicted.
According to the decision of Pervomaisky district court of Bishkek of Tologonov was found guilty under article “the Organization of robbery”, “the Organization of deliberate destruction and property damage”, “Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage of weapons, ammunition and explosives” the Criminal code of Kyrgyzstan.
In turn, the lawyer eks-the Deputy of Sartbai Jaichybekov told the Agency that the protection party intends to appeal against the first instance verdict.
“At sentencing, the judge, considering the age of the convicted person applied the Amnesty, but the exact duration of the stay my client in prison, I can not say, because not yet received the court’s decision. I think, given Amnesty, the prison term could be reduced to 6-7 years,” he said.
65-year-old former Deputy of Parliament of Kyrgyzstan, the opposition political party “ATA-Meken” (Fatherland) R. Tologonov was arrested by the State Committee for national security (SCNS) in late March. The secret service accused him of unlawful seizure of another’s property.
“It was established that the looting of offices, residential houses, including those belonging to the Bakiyev family and their associates that took place in the period from 7 to 10 April 2010 in Bishkek, was made by a group of persons under the direct leadership of the former Deputy from the party “ATA-Meken” R. Tologonov”, – reported earlier in the SCNS.
After the April revolution of 2010, which resulted in Kyrgyzstan’s change of power, President Kurmanbek Bakiyev, his relatives and closest associates fled the country.
