In Estonia in the military town of Tapa on Monday held a solemn opening ceremony of one of the largest defensive complexes, built in the country over the last decade.
The complex will be opened by the Minister of defence jüri Luik, together with a representative of the defence forces of Estonia and the representative of the allies, the newspaper reported Postimees.ee.
The complex consists of 20 buildings, including three barracks, a dining room, classrooms and ancillary buildings. The total area is 38,000 square meters.
The new barracks is built in accordance with modern requirements and the needs of the modern soldier. In each barracks 300 beds and 30 jobs. In one of the barracks are in the household and classrooms, and rooms for storage of equipment and its maintenance.
Dining room is located on an area of 5500 square meters and is one of the largest in the Baltic States. She is able to feed in the day, the 3,200 – 2,400 people on site and another 800 people on the exercises.
The cost of construction of the complex amounted to 43 million euros.
In Tapa are based, but the soldiers of the First infantry brigade of the Estonian defense Forces, combat battalion group to NATO, composed of 1,200 people. It is composed of soldiers and officers from Britain and France.
