The Associated Press previously reported that Manafort about 10 years of “secret work” for the Russian businessman Oleg Deripaska and promoted the interests of Moscow in the political, economic and other fields.
Deripaska demanded that the AP publish a retraction. The Agency refused to publish it, and announced that the publication “was based on interviews with people familiar with financial income of Manafort” and the data on it is “international transfers of millions of dollars.”
In may, the Russian businessman has filed a lawsuit against the AP, accusing the Agency of libel.
