X5 Retail Group (“Pyaterochka”, “Perekrestok”, “Karusel”) is considering the purchase of shopping from the retailer O’key (more than 30 stores under the same brand).
The X5 has filed a petition to the Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS). Further action will depend on the decision of the FAS and the results of the negotiations, said the X5.
“Okay” considering various options for business development with the aim of increasing value for shareholders, including through active work with the portfolio of assets. As one of the variants of optimization of a portfolio of assets is considered a sale of the business of supermarkets under the brand “okay” to fully focus on the development of hypermarkets and discounters,” – said the potential seller.

The FAS reported that on Tuesday received the petition of the company Kelwin Limited (structure X5 – if) for preliminary consent to acquisition of a stake in an unnamed retail company engaged in the food trade. “Interested persons are entitled to submit to the Antimonopoly authority information on the impact of this transaction on competition in the relevant commodity markets”, – stated in the message of Antimonopoly service. The term of consideration of application is thirty days from the date of its receipt.
