Minister of culture Vladimir Medinsky in the framework of the “Night of arts” was opened the exhibition “Feodor Chaliapin. 1917. Personal story” the memorial estate of the artist. The Museum is located at the address: Novinsky Boulevard, 25-27, near the American Embassy.
“Probably, there is no Muscovite who would not pass this place. The place is well known, but not everyone comes here, and it is wrong. I think that is much more interesting to come here than for a visa at the American Embassy. Here I am, to my shame, the first time, but certainly not the last, because here everything is made with love, it is very interesting here to wander, to read what is written on the stands, to watch a movie with her daughter Chaliapin, telling about his father, about that time. I am grateful to the staff of the Museum of music for some cozy substantial exposure you create,” said Medina.
The exhibition presents Chaliapin suit of Philip II (from the Opera “don Carlos” by Giuseppe Verdi), numerous photographs of Chaliapin 1917 in this role, his graphic portraits Yakovlev and Buchkin. The visitors will hear in the recording the voice of the famous Russian bass singer, performing folk songs and excerpts from arias of Philip II.
In addition, the exhibition shows to avoid the expropriation of a gun for hunting, and luxurious gilded dagger with an Arabic inscription on the blade and handle of agate. First introduced Chaliapin correspondence with Maxim Gorky and other well-known personalities of the time, as well as a notebook, where the artist recorded the events.
