Killed the head of the FAS of the Crimea fought against traders

A terrible tragedy occurred in the higher echelons of the Federal Antimonopoly service: killed the head of the Crimean Department of the Ministry Timofey Kuraev.

As has informed a source in law enforcement bodies of the Peninsula, on the night of October 8, Kuraev found hanged in the bathroom of his wife in their apartment in Simferopol.

According to the preliminary version of investigators, in the death of a senior official, no criminal part.

The civil servant left a 16-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son. As told “MK” in the FAS, 44-year-old Timofey Kuraev, a native Muscovite. In 1995, he graduated from the Moscow state University of railway engineering. A year later he went to serve in the police, and in 1999 received the second higher education in Russian Academy of foreign trade.

Law enforcement Kuraev was promoted to the position of head of the Department for combating corruption and economic crimes. And in 2004, began to work closely with FAS, as a member of the working group, which was to establish joint work of auditors, and security officials. As a result, the antitrust agencies literally begged the Colonel promising to go to work for him and to lead one of the most problematic in terms of transparency and competition in the region. As noted by the head of FAS Igor Artemyev, the Agency predicted a strong reaction by local businessmen to the appointment of an official from Moscow. However, the proposal was accepted and in July 2014 he moved with his family to Simferopol.

In the Peninsula of Kura fought with the traders: only last year, the Crimean anti-monopolists fined the local oil magnates at 129 million rubles for the cartel.
