According to the Agency REGNUM, in the village Brinkovskoy in Krasnodar region, construction began on the new buildings of the Cossack cadet corps named after hero of the first world war the centurion M. Y. Chaika.


Cadet corps, named after the grandfather of the Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika, was founded in 2008 on the initiative of the Governor of the Krasnodar region and ataman Kuban Cossack army. Currently, he is a former boarding school, providing education to 60 cadets. An educational institution in high demand, in 2017, the competition for admission in it was 8 people in the place. In April 2016, it was named Cossack centurion, the St. George cross Michael Chaika. The financing of housing by charitable Fund of assistance to development of the Cossack village Brinkovskaya, established by the great-grandson of Michael Gull, businessman Igor Chaika.

After reconstruction, the completion of which is scheduled for December 2018, the number of cadets will increase from 60 to 125. Guests will benefit from a new school building area of more than 4 thousand square meters, with an Assembly and sports halls, a dining room and a modern hostel with an area of 2.2 thousand square meters with a medical unit, equipped with all necessary equipment. Along with this planned reconstruction of outdoor sports arena, and landscaping of all areas of the institution. The total cost of works will make about 300 million roubles.

At the groundbreaking, held in the village Brinkovskoy November 11, was attended by Yuri and Igor Chaika and the Governor of Krasnodar Krai Veniamin Kondratiev.

According to Igor Chaika, areas in which today live and do the cadets do not meet modern requirements. “Basically, it’s old buildings, they contain a limited number of pupils, and the demand for training in the Cadet corps a large. The construction of new buildings is a long overdue,” said Igor Chaika.
